Cocoa - oil and pigment on canvas
In the South East Branch of the Basset Hound Club
Miranda is known as Miranda Harris, but in the art
world she is Miranda Ellis.
The subjects of Miranda’s work are diverse, only infrequently
does it include non human animals and quite rarely includes Basset
Hounds. In two pictures in the slide show on the left our
first Hound, Mango can be seen, his head getting into
picture, as he sat, studying the landscape, whilst patiently waiting for Miranda to finish
her work. Cocoa our current Hound gets a more starring role in
the oil painting above, however she was allowed to sleep
whilst modelling.
Other animals in the slide show are sheep, cows, camels and
elephants, some easier to spot than others.
More examples or Miranda's work may be seen on her
website.

(WM. Apart from this website for the South East Branch of the Basset Hound Club I also work on a website which attempts to promote my wife, Miranda's work as an artist. The latter is www.mirandaellis.com Although it has a tendency to languish from neglect, in my defence this is in no small part due to lack of Miranda's cooperation, with luck you may catch it showing up to date information, anyway it will, I hope, give some kind of a glimpse of more of her wonderful paintings. If you are interested please revisit as the site changes as new work is produced or shown.)
