Perhaps no other breed of dog has been celebrated in music quite so
affectionately as the Basset Hound in the recent song ‘A Basset
is
an Asset’. This is a love song to the breed by the talented Seattle based,
Australian singer/songwriter, Bronwyn Edwards Cryer.
The DVD of ‘A Basset is an Asset’ features this intriguing song and stars Bron’s
own hound, Charlee, together with her six adorable puppies. Besides the song the
DVD also features:
Buddy Basset, the puppies’ sire with son,
Barkley, enjoying adventures such as
riding pillion on a motorcycle and in a trailer around Seattle.
A poem by Ruth Whiteside about an ‘off-leash’ exercise park used by Bassets.
The All Fools’ Parade and Basset Bash in the city of Woodinville, WA, where
the local High School band marches through Main Street playing the song
accompanied by 300 Bassets – some in fancy dress.
The puppies are shown when newly born and their first birthday party.
This delightful DVD is set to become a real collector’s item and Bron has
kindly allowed the
South East Branch of the Basset Hound Club to sell it
on her behalf in the U.K.
